UNC Charlotte is seeking a COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR for the new site of the RENAISSANCE COMPUTING INSTITUTE (RENCI). RENCI is a collaborative venture of several universities that uses computer visualization techniques to analyze complex, multidisciplinary issues. The COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR will assist efforts to ensure that research conducted by RENCI@UNC CHARLOTTE is readily available to civic leaders, planning professionals, and community organizations. The responsibilities of this position include public relations, client contact, group facilitation, training activities, website management, report writing, preparation of publications, statistical data analysis, and preparation of proposals and budgets. A master’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, public policy, city and regional planning, geography, economics, or environmental science or a related degree in combination with related experience is required. Work experience in communications, public relations, marketing, public policy, community outreach, local government, and writing proposals is desirable.
