Future Plans

By June 2010, the Institute anticipates reaching the following milestones in the Project’s development:

  • Continue Indicator data updates on a regular schedule of at least quarterly updates, with on-line viewing or downloading of current and historic indicator data;
  • Add new indicators, selected by Task Forces, to the Project’s data sets;
  • Issue the second biennial Indicators Report;
  • Allow custom mapping on-line through a web-based interactive mapping capability;
  • Provide an on-line custom querying and report-generation capability that gives users access to summary and detailed indicator data;
  • Publish special reports on regional trends, opportunities and challenges, based on analysis of Indicators data;
  • Conduct regional symposia, forums, conferences to stimulate regional dialogue and action on critical issues highlighted by Indicator trends.
  • Collaborate with other regional initiatives such as CONNECT (http://cogsconnect.org/ccog/index.php ) and RENCI at UNC Charlotte(http://www.renci.uncc.edu );

To reach these milestones and to continue as a resource for the region, the Project must build a broad base of regional community support, both in financial resources and in-kind partnerships, from local governments, regional non-profits, and the corporate sector.  The Institute thanks the Project’s start-up phase sponsors and invites prospective partners and sponsors to contact Jeff Michael, Institute Director (704-687-2255 or jmichael@uncc.edu ) for more information about partnering and sponsorships.
