Chronology
The Charlotte Indicators Project began its three-year start-up phase in the spring of 2007 with the convening of ten Task Forces of theme-area experts from around the region who donated their time to nominate, debate, and prioritize the inaugural set of Indicators. Over the summer, Institute researchers and graduate students compiled the raw data, computed the indicators, and drafted the initial report on regional Indicator findings. At the Institute’s annual issues conference in the fall of 2007, the first Indicators Report executive summary was published and the Project website was launched. The first full Indicators Report was released in March, 2008 on the Project website. The Project’s efforts during 2008 focused on streamlining the annual data update process and completing the first round of data updates, Task Force identification of potential additional indicators. The project’s objectives for 2009 include release of the first set of County Profile reports, web-based access to downloadable Indicators data, and release of the second biennial regional Indicators Report.
